And he withdrew from them about a stone's throw, and knelt down and prayed
Luke 22:41 ESV
The seventh day. The day God set aside 24 hours to rest. Not because he needed it but because he wanted humankind's first full day of existence, the seventh day, to be a sabbath. We started life with rest. No productivity. Well, not in the way we think of productivity, at least.
God wants rest for you. Not because you’ve earned it but because he's generous. And gracious. And wants to give it to you. He wants your work to flow out of rest and not something we work for. May you find the courage to trust God in your rest. Trust him that he’s got the whole wide world under control without your assistance.
I’ll be taking a summer break from writing. I appreciate you allowing me to come into your life daily. Thank you! We’ll chat again in September.
God’s Not Done,
Scott
