Cambria, my oldest daughter, just received the news that she was accepted into Tacoma School of the Arts.
She had to apply, audition and interview to get accepted. This is especially a big deal because SOTA is a charter school in the Tacoma School District and we are out of district. So her chances we even slimmer because of those accepted, 80% are automatically from within their district.
As a dad of two girls this moved me. As a dad of two girls who happens to be a pastor, I can appreciate some of how a public family feels. Enjoy…
Honestly, their letter challenged me to embrace our “different” life. Growing up a PK (pastor’s kid) is tough and we have sought council from some close family and friends on several occasions. My girls’ life is different in the sense that others see them not just as Cambria and Marissa but as the “Pastor’s Kids” and that comes with perks and pressure.
They may not have signed up for that but it’s what it is…so I say let the PK’s unite and find all the best hiding spots in the church!
