Steven Furtick in this post said this, “Don’t meet with people so you can tweet that you met with them.”
Just for the record, I’ve pursued a meeting with pastors and business leaders I admire to learn, grow and be challenged by their wisdom. I think this is good.
Steven in his post rightly makes the point to not chase big name leaders just to say you did.
I couldn’t agree more! In fact, I feel like the more profitable thing for me is to give my time to those coming behind rather than chase the ministerial skirt ahead (Furtick’s metaphor).
Oh, one more thing: Let’s all stop tweeting about that ministerial celebrity we’re on the phone with or hanging out with.
