What’s Next for Me

As I posted last Monday, I am stepping down from the church I founded and love deeply. There’s so much to say about how I feel (more posts are coming) and so much back story about the details that led to this decision (even more posts coming).

Today I just want to let you know what I’ll be doing and where my family is going.

I’ve accepted a unique position at Brooklake Church in Federal Way, WA. The Lead Pastor is Mike Axton and has led this great church for the past 3 decades. Together, we are embarking on a risky endeavor…a plan of succession.

I’ll be Senior Pastor (Mike will be Lead Senior Pastor) and together we will work towards a transition of leadership over a few years.

I’ve always said that churches, of all kinds and shapes, need to rethink their transitions of leadership. I guess I get to put my theories to the test again.

    personally, i am happy to hear the “back story” and i know that others would be too. i hope you plan on sharing it with the church body as well for those that don’t read your blog. it makes everything less ouchy when things are explained and we hear how God led you to this decision. anyway, for what it’s worth…
