Film & Faith
The Church must exegete two things well: the scriptures and culture. Sadly, we have failed in both but usually we focus on scripture and ignore culture. Culture is what it is. In it can be goodness, neutrality and sinfulness. The work of Christians is to discern the difference and speak and live the gospel into it.
A while back we launched a new ministry designed to exegete culture and because our cultures predominant pulpit is film, we are starting there.
We have responded like the Apostle Paul did to the culture of Athens (Acts 17) and view movies (uncensored). I’m so grateful for Amanda for taking the leadership on this important role each of us have as Christians living not of the world but in it.
